Friday Morning Prayer:)… February 16, 2017
February 16, 2017 - 7 minutes readWould you be free from the burden of sin?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Would you o’er evil a victory win?
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Would you o’er evil a victory win?
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r
In the blood of the Lamb;
There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r
In the precious blood of the Lamb.[1]
In the blood of the Lamb;
There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r
In the precious blood of the Lamb.[1]
“The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.”[2]

Those loved in Jesus,
The theme throughout the week, overcome! Persevere! A brother just this morning reflected a bit about his strong conviction to spend time with our gracious God. It was as though our Lord was talking to me through my brother. He was, does, and will continue, especially as I have ears to hear! I can’t persevere or begin to overcome the inherent and necessary trials of this life without Jesus. In fact, I in my flesh make things much worse, even perpetuate sin and reactions that do not originate from or glorify our gracious God.
Beloved, you know the battle. How necessary to rejuvenate and replenish our spiritual pursuit. God calls us to intimacy, yet I more often than not fall prey to the things pulling in this life. The pull is fine as long as I keep our God in the process and continually cry out for strength to react, demonstrate, facilitate, yes, you know our call to be proactive in ways that are Spirit filled and consistent with the fruit of the Spirit. Be encouraged in knowing, and singing with great conviction, “There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r In the blood of the Lamb;” In your struggle, your daily pursuit of God, especially as our sovereign God forms and shapes your life in Christ as he determines, walk daily by our Savior’s side and never give up!
“There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean, Oh, be washed in the blood of the Lamb!”[3] O the necessity to be washed in the blood of the Lamb! I am convinced I am “saved” in fact, I was saved, being saved, and going to be saved. Saved from what? Eternal hell where the worm never dies, today from calamity, the devil’s schemes, the temptations from my wicked flesh nature, and look forward to an eternal bliss free from pain and suffering, even a new heaven and new earth.
You too have this same hope! God has changed your life! We are regenerated, new in Christ! Therefore, we cry out with much humility, God help me to walk, talk, live, express, love as I should through the power of our indwelling God! Yes, I am saved. However, I tremble at “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord Lord, will enter the Kingdom of heaven…. Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not…. Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evil doers!”[4]
My prayer for me and you is that faithfulness to the Scripture, unceasing prayer, hunger and thirst for intimacy with our gracious God that is evident every day. I want others to recognize me by the fruit manifested by the Spirit. Moreover, may my regenerated heart, yours too, reflect much love, grace, mercy as words are spoken from my mouth! I long to bear fruit that is consistent with repentance! Empower us Lord! Through the precious blood of the Lamb!
Would you be free from your passion and pride?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide;
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide;
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Sin-stains are lost in its life-giving flow;
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Sin-stains are lost in its life-giving flow;
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
Would you do service for Jesus your King?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Would you live daily His praises to sing?
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Would you live daily His praises to sing?
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.

Sisters are meeting to pray! First Baptist. 1912 Arnold Way. Alpine. 0900.
Thank you sisters in Christ! Your faithfulness does not go unnoticed. Through the prayers of many we are strengthened! You, sister in Jesus, are invited to join in fellowship and prayer. A necessary pursuit for the maturing and struggling Christian.
Brothers are meeting too! 3rd Friday! First Baptist. 0730.
We join to pray and love one another as the Scripture instructs and encourages for our well-being in Jesus! I need brothers! You do too! Therefore, join us for a time of sweet prayer and fellowship… a very quick hour really, but O how necessary to keep us strengthened. We are continuing to pray for pastor Rollins at First Baptist as he recovers from health issues, and the body of Christ that meets faithfully there at First Baptist.
Your brother in Jesus,
Randall:)…
