Dear friends, neighbors, and the body of Christ,
Compassionate Ministries—Professional Payee Services began after recognizing a recurring need for financial guidance and clinical services among the chronically disabled and poor. In response to this need we decided to do all we can to demonstrate compassion and love to those who are homeless, struggle with a mental disability, and are in need of a representative payee to help ensure expenses such as rent, food, clothing, etc., are monitored and taken care of for those who struggle taking care of their basic necessities.
Compassionate Ministries—Professional Payee Services, Inc. has been approved as a non-profit organization by the state of California and recognized as a 501c(3) charitable organization by the IRS. As a charitable organization we rely primarily on tax-deductible contributions to meet operating expenses and develop our intervention strategies.
We are grateful for both “In-kind” donations such as material goods, mildly used clothing, non-perishable foods, and office supplies, etc. as well as monetary donations to help with expenses.
What are we doing with In-kind and monetary donations?
Compassionate Ministries—Professional Payee Services, Inc. is currently serving as a representative payee for about 50 disabled clients. We manage their funds by opening bank accounts, paying vendors and landlords to ensure shelter is maintained and food attained by all those under our payee service.
We are helping to support Luke’s House. A sober living environment for dually diagnosed men. With the help of a Director, and lead men we have developed a network of care for many people in need. Everyday we equip 10-12 men to live a better quality of life through referrals to recovery programs and structured day programs. Luke’s House is a semi-structured therapeautic environment that encourages indiscriminate love and compassion.
Our services are for all those in need. We DO NOT determine who receives our services based on Christian affiliation or any philosophical belief or world view.
WE ARE A PUBLIC SERVICE ORGANIZATION. THEREFORE, OUR GOVERNING DOCUMENTS, CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY, AND FINANCIAL STATEMENTS ARE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC DURING THE YEAR. CONTACT US TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO REVIEW AND DISCUSS ALL OR ANY OF THESE AREAS OF OPERATION.
Thank you to our supporters over the years for local projects and financial support to help the poor and homeless! This year, and the years to come, as the Lord leads, we are focusing on East County, especially working poor families in Alpine, El Cajon, and surrounding areas, who are in need of basic necessity support. We will continue to help many folks downtown through our payee services. However, we have discontinued Balboa Park outreaches.
May you experience the excitement about helping those in need this New Year and throughout the year. Make your tax-deductible gift to Compassionate Ministries—Professional Payee Services, Inc. (CMPPS).
Sincerely,
Dr. Randall Torres (President)
