Friday Morning Prayer…:) December 2, 2021

December 3, 2021 - 6 minutes read

Who Can Cheer The Heart Like Jesus,
By His Presence All Divine?
True And Tender, Pure And Precious,
O How Blest To Call Him Mine!

All That Thrills My Soul Is Jesus;
He Is More Than Life To Me;
And The Fairest Of Ten Thousand,
In My Blessed Lord I See.

Love Of Christ So Freely Given,
Grace Of God Beyond Degree,
Mercy Higher Than The Heaven,
Deeper Than The Deepest Sea.

What A Wonderful Redemption!
Never Can A Mortal Know
How My Sin, Though Red Like Crimson,
Can Be Whiter Than The Snow.[1]

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”[2]

A brother in Christ demonstrated the cheer of Divine presence as he overflowed words of amazement at our mid-week Bible talk.   ‘O How Blest To Call Him Mine!’ He did not say the words of the hymn, but the words of the hymn were reflected in his cheerful countenance.   He lost his bank card, feeling the angst, he sought the Lord.  Later, he sensed the Lord telling him to look under his bed; he found his bank card.  The cheer was the realization of God’s evident presence!

Another dear brother shared, he encountered a verbally hostile fella earlier in the day.  The Spirit of God indwelling restrained our brother from responding with anger.   Truly, ‘Every Need His Hand Supplying, Every Good In Him I See; On His Strength Divine Relying, He Is All In All To Me.’  Our brother’s regenerate heart filled by the Spirit of God led him and continued to give him deep concern about his response in the light of Jesus, his and every person in Christ, our continual Divine presence.  Yes! Yes! Yes!   ‘Love Of Christ So Freely Given, Grace Of God Beyond Degree, Mercy Higher Than The Heaven, Deeper Than The Deepest Sea.’

Tonight, the presence of Jesus was evident in the brothers as we gathered to talk about our journeys with Jesus.  Brother Michael shared about his release from the clutches of depression and his recognition of God’s faithfulness to be with him through his emotional storm.  Jeff, a man who told me some time ago, “I came here with a degenerate heart, and now I am regenerate.”  This brother of ours, truly, God’s amazing grace has brought him stability.  He was barely able to walk, a physical mess!  A higher level of care/housing appeared inevitable.  However, God answered the prayers of many granting strength and now Jeff is walking, traveling to meetings, and growing in the grace of God, sober!   The presence of Jesus is reflected in Henry—a servant who loves the men.   Leon, expressed his child-like faith, “I am talking to God more often now, praying.”  “It feels good learning about God, and being more religious.”

What a wonderful redemption we share!  Indeed!  By God’s grace, we engage in the pursuit of fully knowing our God through Jesus or Redeemer.  Peter encourages us, “…through our ‘knowing’ … him, who called us by his own glory and goodness.  Through …[his glory and goodness] he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”[3]  Beloved, press in, and may the reality of God’s continual presence be even more intense, evident, and life-changing, joyful and overflowing, as you, and me, daily, access the supernatural power needed to live this life in Christ.

Every Need His Hand Supplying,
Every Good In Him I See;
On His Strength Divine Relying,
He Is All In All To Me.

By The Crystal Flowing River
With The Ransomed I Will Sing,
And Forever And Forever
Praise And Glorify The King.
