Friday Morning Prayer:)… April 17, 2020

April 17, 2020 - 5 minutes read

Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed by Thy Name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven

Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive our debts
As we have forgiven them
And lead us not into temptation
Deliver us from the evil one

All Yours is the kingdom the
Power the glory forever[1]

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.  And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”[2]

The question was asked, “how then should we pray?”   The song lyrics remind us “There is strength within our sorrow there is beauty in our tears And You meet us in our mourning With a love that casts out fear.” It is good to be reminded that God is working in our waiting and sanctifying us; beyond our understanding, our gracious God is teaching us to trust.  There is comfort in knowing our God is always with us “in the fire and the flood You’re faithful forever.”  God is sovereign over us.[3]

Our constant call to prayer with indwelling, overflowing radiance and confidence, humble yet empowered by the Spirit, we cry out “Our Father… hallowed be your name.  Your kingdom come, your will be done…” before we pray “give us this day our daily bread.”[4] I desire, as you do too, and diligently we ask for divine discernment and help to pursue, create, modify, adjust our thinking toward the right attitude with respect to God’s will.  God’s will be done even when I have to endure pain and suffering at the sovereign hand of God for his glory and my ultimate good!

Brother Mark encouraged the body of Christ to constantly be praying.  Your renewed mind in Christ!  Our ever-increasing understanding and joy in knowing God’s forever presence.  This truth is especially comforting with confidence during our persistent pursuit to engage with our God at every turn in prayer.  “So, I say to you: Ask (keep on asking) and it will be given to you; seek (keep on seeking) and you will find; knock (Keep on knocking) and the door will be opened to you.”[5]  Our persistent pursuit in prayer demonstrates the value, urgency, importance of our plea just as God cares and teaches us how important and necessary our persistence is to him.

Beloved in Jesus!  There is much more to say about and encourage with words of persistence, prayer, and perseverance in our shared faith!  I absolutely love with tears those who demonstrate and long for perseverance!  If you are struggling through our shared faith, the joy is not evident, the burden is heavy, circumstances are overwhelming, oh man I cry with you and pray, pray, pray for God to have mercy, as his will is accomplished through your Christ-centered life.

I encourage you to reach out and develop relationships and stay connected with Spirit-led people.  Although we must shelter-in, we are designed for relationship, to love, encourage, listen, pray, and enjoy one another, especially in Christ!  We pursue God’s will individually and together.  Our fellowship @ Emmanuel Christian, hence family in Jesus has modified as necessary given our circumstances.  We utilize Zoom virtual meetings on Sundays and Wednesdays and it works to help us to fulfill our calling and spur each other on toward love and good deeds!  A time of encouragement through teaching, singing, sharing, glorifying and enjoying our God.   It is not perfect, only God is perfect, so let me know if you’d like to join or need direction to get connected with gospel truth.

All Yours is the kingdom the
Power the glory forever
