Volunteers Needed for July 2011 Outreach
May 5, 2011 - 1 minute readAt our next outreach to the poor and homeless we will be screening folks to determine if they qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)which essentially gives folks who qualify funding for food and basic necessities.
You can lean more about this program for the poor at feedingamericasd.org
Essentially, Feeding American San Diego processes the paperwork and gets folks the help they need through government funding. Volunteers through Compassionate Ministries identify those that qualify and help them fill out the application for approval.
The training to understand the who, what, where, and whys about SNAP is this Tuesday May 10, 2011 at Feeding America in San Diego. The time is from 10am to 12. We currently have two volunteers going to the training. I was hoping to have at least 4 volunteers willing to attend the training and serve at the next Balboa Park outreach in July.
Give us a call if you would like to learn more and want to consider serving in this capacity. 619-658-8187.
More information to come as we get permitted for the probably the last weekend in July 2011 at Balboa park. We are planning now to fit everyone’s schedule.
In His Service,
Randall
