Summer Outreach to the Poor and Homeless

We have confirmed our August 28th quarterly outreach to the poor and homeless. We plan to set up around 0730-0800 at Pine Grove Picnic Area. This is the same location we served at 3 months ago. If you would like to volunteer serving, organizing, or just encouraging those in need give us a call at 619-659-8187.

We are striving to gather as many backpacks as we can for this outreach. And, if you have slightly worn clothing, hygiene products, waters, bagged lunches, packaged food,etc., and would like to donate to our Summer Outreach let us know and we can make arrangements to connect.

We are excited about helping those in need. Steve Antti and Bob Duck will be playing live music and sharing how our God Who has great mercy and compassion through our Lord Jesus, saved them from a life of sin, and continues to renew everyday.

Please pray for this event. Our primary purpose is to share the love of Jesus in Word and deed. We strongly believe, according to the Scripture, that God has compassion for those who are poor. He calls us as believers to love all people, and to help those in need. Our hope and prayer is that God in His sovereignty will call many to Himself, grant repentance, and empower many broken vessels to live a new life in Christ.

We are only striving to be obedient messengers through which others come to Jesus. God alone determines the outcome. For us, quarterly outreaches to the poor results from a living and dynamic faith that is granted by God’s grace as he determines. Moreover, because the Spirit of Christ lives in us we go to serve the poor and share the gospel.

The Apostle Paul said, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:8-10.

Our prayer is that we are sensitive enough in our current sinful state to hear from and heed to God as He directs us to accomplish the works prepared in advance. May God be glorified! Join us as God leads.
