Prayer and Encouragement: April 1, 2014
May 18, 2014 - 3 minutes readBeloved Brothers and Sisters In Christ,
I pray you are encouraged always, especially after being equipped through fellowship, teaching, preaching the Word, worship and praise, and PRAYER, all in and through the Holy Spirit, this past weekend~together as the body of Christ:).
Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, encourages us to “stand” especially as we put on the full armor of God and enter into battle, “…be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Eph 6:10. We are reminded that “…our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” v. 12.
In the context of Ephesians, it is very likely that attempts were being made to destroy the unity of Christ’s body, especially through false doctrine and the instigating of dissension. However, we are not unaware of the devil’s schemes and our own tendencies in the flesh! Therefore, we humble ourselves and pray: a call to arms! Together we fight the spiritual battle! We pray without ceasing, in the power of the Spirit!
Everyday, or at least many times each week we need brothers and sisters to encourage us In Christ!:). As a result, we can be ready for the inevitable encounter with evil, even “within myself.”
Lord help me to have a humble heart and willingness to love, encourage, and practically help my brothers and sisters In Christ, especially those You place in my sphere of influence everyday. Paul makes it clear that we help each other by praying for each other, and we are delivered because we set our hope on Him! :). 2 Cor. 1:11.
Brothers and Sisters, please pray for Alpine and the surrounding communities. We desire a powerful move of the Spirit in many lives: a renewal for complacent or just tired Christians, a supernatural transformation for non-believers! May many many folks, youth, adults, families, singles, be divinely directed to one of the Bible teaching evangelical churches here in Alpine or the surrounding communities.
Moreover, pray diligently for our church leaders and para church ministries: Pastors, Elders, Deacons, Teachers, Leaders, Directors, That “words may be given…so that…fearlessly…make known the mystery of the gospel…declare it fearlessly as [we] should.” Eph. 6:19-20.
Finally, pray for our Alpine Youth Center: Gracious God, use us to love and facilitate transformation among many and all youth of Alpine, especially those coming through the Youth Center!
Persevere!
Love you much!
Randall:)
Pray! Pray! Pray, in the power of Christ! 🙂
