Friday Morning Prayer:). October 22, 2015
October 24, 2015 - 6 minutes readExalt the Lord, his praise proclaim;
All ye his servants, praise his name,
Who in the Lord’s house ever stand
And humbly serve at his command.
The Lord is good, his praise proclaim;
Since it is pleasant, praise his name;
His people for his own he takes
And his peculiar treasure makes.[1]
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christs’ behalf: Be reconciled to God.[2]
In the midst of ALL our daily struggles, pursuits, victories, failures, frustrations… during our interpersonal conflicts, feelings of anger, anxious days, depressed mood, especially during those times of love toward our neighbors, our children, family members, brothers and sisters in Christ…etc., our sovereign God is forever present. Our Lord reigns! In reference to the nations, of which God is exalted over, the psalmist writes, “Let them praise your great and awesome name—he is holy.” [!].[3]
Beloved, be encouraged, especially as you rest In Christ today. Having believed that our holy God took your sin, my sin, past, present, and future…on Himself and died on a brutal cross so that we who genuinely believe are righteous before our holy God and are given grace to relate intimately every moment of every day through every circumstance. How necessary! How cool! The Apostle Paul, inspired by God the Holy Spirit, wrote,
“This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood….”[4]
Therefore, “Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy.”[5] Moses and Aaron were priests, and Samuel was among those who called on the Name of God. “They called on the Lord and he answered them. He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud; they kept his statues and the decrees he gave them.”[6] They were appointed to intercede with God on behalf of a faltering people.
Similarly, today for those In Christ, Peter refers to us, “you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”[7]
We offer our bodies as living sacrifices! We pray, pray, pray! We cry out for our families, our loved ones, brothers and sisters In Christ, the body of Christ represented through various churches. Furthermore, we pray for the lost, the many in our communities who need God’s mercy. Please Lord… In fact, we surrender ourselves to God to be used how He determines in reaching the many needing saving grace.
“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.[8]
O Lord our God, you answered them; you were to Israel a forgiving God, though you punished their misdeeds.”[9] God’s mercy and forgiveness in days past continues today for our generation and generations to come. May many experience God’s grace and royal pardon as we diligently intercede with God through prayer. Much intercessory prayer!
I know the Lord is high in state,
Above all gods our Lord is great;
The Lord performs what he decrees,
In heaven and earth, in depths and seas.
He makes the vapors to ascend
In clouds from earth’s remotest end;
The lightnings flash at his command,
He holds the tempest in his hand.
Exalt the Lord, his praise proclaim;
All ye his servants, praise his name,
Who in the Lord’s house ever stand
And humbly serve at his command.
For ever praise and bless his name,
And in the church his praise proclaim;
In Zion is his dwelling place;
Praise ye the Lord, show forth his grace.
