Friday Morning Prayer:)… October 20, 2016
October 20, 2016 - 6 minutes readBe not dismayed whate’er betide,
God will take care of you;
Beneath His wings of love abide,
God will take care of you.
God will take care of you,
Through every day, o’er all the way;
He will take care of you,
God will take care of you.
Through days of toil when heart doth fail,
God will take care of you;
When dangers fierce your path assail,
God will take care of you.[1]
“…All of you, cloth yourselves with humility toward one another, because ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’ Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”[2]
Beloved In Christ,
Whatever circumstances unfold through this life, do I trust God? Do I really believe our God cares about my life and will take care of me ‘through every day, o’er all the way?’ A brother recently reminded me of this truth, God cares. I thought of scripture, “I do believe; help my unbelief.”[3] Humble, before our sovereign God, my life, your life too submitted to his mighty hand that graciously molds, shapes, disciplines and delivers according to his plan.
Sister/Brother we know from scripture that my faith, yours too, our ability to believe and trust Jesus is a gift from God. The Apostle Paul, “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.”[4] Yes. Lord, I do believe, help my unbelief.
Our prayers factor into God’s sovereign plan, even helping us overcome our humanness. We plead daily, by God’s grace to be strengthened in faith through temptations, trials and tribulations. Jesus said to Peter, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”[5] Our Lord Jesus prayed for Peter and his faith did not fail, his letter strengthens us today. Peter learned humility through his failures. He was lifted up in due time. following a time of pride and brokenness. Through Peter we are encouraged to believe and act, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
So, we pray, pray, pray, for ourselves and others. Lord, praise You, great and mighty God. Thank you for saving faith; Lord you are merciful and gracious; sustain my sister/brothers’ faith, strengthen through the many trials of this life, empower, I pray we will not fall into temptation, but be strengthened as we intentionally ‘throw off’ all our cares, humbly at the foot of the cross.
I was moved this past Sunday as a sister prayed, “whatever it takes” for her life in Christ to go deeper, more intimate with God. I too want that courage, humility, and devotion.
Beloved, I write to encourage you, and myself to trust Jesus and pray. A brother referenced the discipline of prayer as nurturing a prayerful attitude all the time. May God grant us the grace to humbly seek him always:

Rest in Him
Answers our prayers
Yearn for prayer
Under the great pressures, living through this life, God helps us through the prayers of many. Therefore, prayerfully, we cry out for others! In obedience I cast all my anxiety on him and rejoice in knowing Jesus cares.
All you may need He will provide,
God will take care of you;
Nothing you ask will be denied,
God will take care of you.
No matter what may be the test,
God will take care of you;
Lean, weary one, upon His breast,
God will take care of you.
