Friday Morning Prayer:). October 2, 2014
October 3, 2014 - 4 minutes readWhat a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Brothers & Sisters In Christ,
Friday Morning: Brothers are meeting at Grace Fellowship. 2301 S. Grade. Alpine. 0730.
Sisters from various churches are meeting too! :). First Baptist Church. 1912 Arnold Way. Alpine. 0900.
The joy of meeting together, especially to pray! Yes! Through our prayers we adore our God who is most worthy our praise and worship! O come let us adore Him, O come let us adore Him, O come let us adore Him…for He Alone is worthy! This is not a seasonal song. No! This is a constant mindset for the transformed, desperate for God, hungry, thirsty, overflowing, joyful believer. YOU! :).
I found myself struggling this morning. You know, those times when there is so much going on (in the mind, and emotions) that we ache, cry, feeling desperate for the assurance and comfort of our gracious God. The pain of others, frustrations, my own weakness, inadequate, powerless, uncertainty…. However, God allows me to supernaturally trust, and how I long to trust more and more… we struggle with “the emptiness” yet we persevere by God’s grace everyday! I know how it feels to be filled and empowered… yet the paradox is that we must become powerless, humble, and desperate for God in order to experience His power, even supernatural power to be manifest in our midst.
Brothers, Sisters… I pray you have an outlet to process all the complexities of who we are In Christ. We need each other to carry burdens, to pray without ceasing, give a helping hand, serve those most in need, encourage, love and sometimes just “be” with… I met with a brother yesterday for a time of just sharing ideas. Before I even realized two hours had gone by… we were just sharing ideas about “being” Christians. Thanks Brother!
Friday Morning Prayer is a special part of our process, hence living out what we believe. So, I am thankful for the relationships that have evolved… we continue to pray and work toward “unity” and even greater participation in making a difference for the Kingdom. Indeed, may we always heed the words of Jesus as we intentionally seek to utilize, manifest, practice over and over our God given gifts:
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35.
Be encouraged, especially as you practice the suggestions I read somewhere by someone who made practical sense:):
We know the Lord and His ways.
We pray and consistently spend time in His Word.
We live repentant lifestyles.
We spend time around other people who love God and are strong in heart.
Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear;
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright, unclouded,
There will be no need for prayer—
Rapture, praise, and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.
LoVe YOU Much!
