Friday Morning Prayer:). October 1, 2015

October 1, 2015 - 7 minutes read

I stand amazed in the presence
of Jesus the Nazarene,
and wonder how he could love me,
a sinner, condemned, unclean.

How marvelous! How wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
How marvelous! How wonderful
is my Savior’s love for me![1]

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord. They rejoice in your name all day long; they exult your righteousness.[2]

Beloved In Christ,

I pray you can’t help, hence an overwhelming desire to sing, “How marvelous! How wonderful is my Savior’s love for me!” The JOY In Christ! Life is tough, we struggle, my heart aches, tears flow, yet a supernatural peace that transcends our understanding! Yes! “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”[3] Truly we know, even experience our God as faithful to us…. Great is thy faithfulness unto me day after day!

Yesterday morning was a tougher morning than usual. A challenge to manifest peace, loving, patience, a humble attitude. I failed. I took necessary time to pray. You’ve been there, maybe even this week. To some degree I fail every day, but yesterday I experienced increased feelings of frustration, even inadequacy and a desperate need for wisdom from our gracious God. I recognized the trial, even a test, if not a temptation from the evil one trying to get me off course. NO! God is faithful, especially as I chose to humble myself and cry out for help.

The psalmist, David was real, genuine, authentic man of God filled with the Holy Spirit, and transparent, giving us inspired words to cherish and even echo at the Throne of our gracious and merciful God. “Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.” No matter where you might be in your journey with Christ: strong and vibrant, anxious and faithless, desperate and lonely, or distant and uncertain, our God is faithful! Brother/sister…pray, cry out to our God with great or little faith. Ask, seek, knock, “O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.”

In the midst of the emotional storm, I prayed for wisdom and believed God would grant my request. James tells us that heavenly wisdom is pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy, manifests good fruit, remains impartial and sincere. He also tells us that wisdom fuels, even originates our good deeds and humility.[4] After prayer I was able to meet with a faithful brother and process my struggle and we prayed together. A Joy! A burden relieved, a heavenly perspective granted.

May YOU be encouraged! Pray and expect our God to remain faithful according to His sovereign plan for every aspect of your life. Really! Trust Jesus more and more! Pray for greater and greater faith, yet accepting that faith amounting to a mustard seed moves mountains! Remember, and sing, His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.[5] The reality of our abiding God! Awe and comfort.

We ask for wisdom and God remains faithful! He gives generously to all without finding fault.[6] It is great to know this truth, even greater to experience this supernatural truth in our everyday circumstances, interpersonal relations, work activities, ministry endeavors, etc.,

Through life process, In Christ, we can begin to grasp the inspired words, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, [sisters too] whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”[7]
