Friday Morning Prayer: March 5, 2014
May 18, 2014 - 3 minutes readBeloved Brothers In Christ,
Friday Morning Prayer! Yes! I pray you too are excited about getting together to worship and pray. If not on Friday mornings, then whenever you approach the throne of our gracious God, may you experience excitement and awe in response to our omnipotent, yet loving Father, Son, Holy Spirit:).
We are meeting at First Baptist located at 1912 Arnold Way. Friday morning at 0730-A time of catching up and encouragement. As God the Holy Spirit leads we ask, seek, knock, humbly crying out to our gracious God around 0745, allowing God to move us until 0830.
You are invited to come with a song in your heart, a prayer request, a word of encouragement, or just come and “be” with brothers in Christ. It is comforting how men from different walks of this life can unite because of the common supernatural experience we share, even the hope of eternal life:).
Prayer Requests:
Richard Hixon, our brother from First Baptist called me this week. He asked for prayer for a man named John. As Richard shared his experience with John, I sensed God and cried. Richard works as a security guard in an enclosed resevoir not accessible to the public. John showed up on a motorcycle attempting to enter the restricted area. Richard stopped him and directed him to where he could take pictures. God used Richard and conversation began. John shared he had a terminal illness and did not expect to live much longer, maybe a few months, he was told by his physician.
Urgency! Richard was in “you need Jesus” mode and proceeded to share the gospel. Richard pleaded and even offered him his Bible to take with him. John refused, although he was crying and obviously disturbed. May the Lord disturb him right to the cross we pray.
Cry out on behalf of John. Lord draw this man, may he not die without salvation.
Pray for Ann Madden, a pillar at First Baptist. Our sister has been diagnosed with cancer.
Sue Jenkins, our faithful sister, and widow of decest Elder Jim Jenkins from Mt. View Bible here in Alpine. She has fluid gathering in her chest cavity and waiting for additional procedures to determine what is going on.
Mention our brothers in your prayers: Bernard Honders, Bob Cole, Peter Larson.
