Friday Morning Prayer:). March 26, 2015
March 27, 2015 - 6 minutes readWhat a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption of the world caused by evil desires. 2 Peter 1:3-4

We know there is no distinction between the sacred and the secular when it comes to our life In Christ. We are always “In Christ” and called to live, pursue, desire holiness. Whether at church, work, weekend getaway…at home with my family, etc., wherever God has us, we are His! Thank you Lord! I just sit here in awe. Our God communes with us. A propositional truth! By faith we become partakers of His holiness. God the Holy Spirit renews us continually, especially as we cry out, desperately needing His power, comfort, guidance. Yes! I pray you are experiencing the reality of our God in your everyday life, in every context. There are so many promises of God for us!
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matt 11:28-29
“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Phil 4:19-20.
I read a little from Andrew Murray this week. Oh how I need to persevere in prayer! God promises to heal the sick, mend the brokenhearted… He determines how, when, to what extent… many times not according to our timing, expectation, or desire…however, we stay faithful in prayer and trust our sovereign God. I was challenged this week to examine my own degree of faith, …do I believe that God will keep His promises? Do I believe God can and does heal? Do I believe and not doubt? Do I persevere in prayer when what I petition is long in coming? Murray wrote,
“The necessity of praying with perseverance is the secret of all spiritual life. What a blessing to be able to ask the Lord for such and such a grace until He gives it, knowing with certainty that it is His will to answer prayer, to knock in faith at His door, to remind Him of His promises and to do so without wearying until He arises and grants us our petition!”
“Delay in the answer is intended to prove and strengthen our faith; it ought to develop in us the steadfast will which will no longer let go the promises of God, but which renounces its own side of things to trust God alone….”
Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear;
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright, unclouded,
There will be no need for prayer—
Rapture, praise, and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.
Be encouraged! Our God is an Awesome God! He loves you! He wants intimacy with YOU! He empowers you to live for Him!
LoVe YOU! MUCH!
Join us for persevering prayer:).
