Friday Morning Prayer: March 26, 2014

May 18, 2014 - 4 minutes read

Beloved Brothers In Christ,

Paul writes, “Remind the people…” (Tit 3:1). I am thankful that I have brothers to remind me on a regular basis who I am In Christ:). And, being in this position comes responsibilities that can only be accomplished through supernatural intervention! Therefore, we who are “In Christ” are reminded “…to ‘be’ obedient and ready ‘to do’ whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable toward all men” v.1b-2.

My workplace was slow today. I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to get downtown to 16th and Imperial around lunch time. Every quarter I make an effort to go there and offer “Our Daily Bread” devotionals to the poor and disabled. Most are very appreciative and express thanks. However, today, one depraved individual proceeded to “flip the bird” as he walked by me. I had a mixture of emotions flood my being as he passed. However, I restrained and calmly said, “I’m sure they did that to Jesus too.” Then I said to myself, right on! Although to a lesser extent, slandered for the gospel. Rejoice!

Paul goes on to say in Titus 3:3,”At one time we too were foolish….We lived in malice and envy being hated and hating one another.” BUT when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, HE SAVED US not because of righteous things we had done, but because of HIS MERCY. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us GENEROUSLY through Jesus Christ our Savior, SO THAT having been justified by HIS GRACE, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. v. 4-7.

WOW! a trustworthy saying indeed, one that we must be stressed, proclaimed, emphasized, shouted, preached, taught, over and over again, especially as we strive to do what is good! Why? “These things are EXCELLENT and profitable for everyone.” !!! :). v. 8.

INVITATION: Come join us in doing good this Friday morning: brothers praying together is very good:). We are meeting at the Alpine Youth Center, located at 2153 Arnold Way, Alpine.

If you can make it we meet at 0730 for a time of sharing, and at 0745 we pray and sing, desiring only to do as the Holy Spirit directs us. Therefore, come with a song, or not, just come and “be” in the presence of kind brothers who love our Lord Jesus!

I know many brothers can’t make it at this time on this day. However, we appreciate your prayers during this hour and beyond. And, if you have a prayer request, please don’t hesitate to email me. In fact, AS the Holy Spirit prompts you, send a reply to encourage us! We like to hear about the “prayers of many.”

Know with certainty, your prayers make a difference! :).

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING: Local churches and those in surrouding communities: our Pastors, Elders, Deacons, Teachers, Youth Groups, Youth Center, Individuals and Families throughout Alpine and surrounding communities. May many hear the gospel, respond, and get firmly established in one of the local churches. Lord, soften the hardened heart and grant enduring boldness to proclaim the gospel.

Persevere!
