Rejoice in the Lord always,

Rejoice! Rejoice!

“It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp.” Psalm 92:1-3
Sisters are meeting at First Baptist. 1912 Arnold Way. 0900. You are invited to join others to pray for our communities, be encouraged, and worship our God! Ladies who love Jesus, even need to be embraced by our loving God, if you have a free hour or so, devote to pray together… A few, many, all to the glory of our gracious God!
Brothers are meeting at Mt. View Bible. 2710 Alpine Blvd. Alpine. 0730. Join us in worship of our God! Pray with us as we cry out to our God on behalf of our churches, pastors, residents: elderly, adults, youth, for those In Christ, and the many that need supernatural life! In our sovereign God we trust to grant salvation for many through our constant prayers. Wrestle with us! Ask, seek, and knock with great desperation unceasing… our living faith… proclaim… I really believe… manifest Your power through our earnest prayer… cry out! Infilling! Empower! Praise God with us, especially as the Holy Spirit leads you!
Beloved In Christ,
“Come let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.” Psalm 95
Praise God we are not left to our own devices! We, those truly “In Christ” are “…under his care….” “… Today, if you hear his voice…” v. 7. So often I ask for my hardened heart to be softened! I want to hear the voice of God! You do too! I say it! I cry out for God the Holy Spirit to lead my life! Do I really listen? Do I really expect God to move? Yes! Help me Lord to overcome my unbelief and resist all temptations that present to lead me astray…. In Your supernatural power may we actively listen, pursue You with overwhelming intimacy, hunger, thirst that will be fulfilled in Your all pervasive love…. Amen.
This week a challenge was sent out to a number of folks. How appropriate to extend this challenge to YOU. Our faithful brother wrote,
“I am proposing that we take the next month to fast and pray and seek the Lord for what He would have us do and how to do it. With so many options on the table, I don’t want to settle for “good ideas”, I want to receive and rely on GOD ideas!
The challenge is this, give up something for 3 weeks, something that takes up at least 30 minutes or more of our day, whether it is tv, or social media, or internet, or a meal, or recreational activity, or phone, or shopping, or anything that will free you up to spend that 30+ minutes with the Lord, thanking HIM, praying for all of us, dealing with our sins, and listening to what He may say or put on our hearts. Take the time to write down your thoughts or what you feel like the Lord is saying at any of those times throughout the next 3 weeks. Some of you may get a vision, some may get a verse or scripture, some may get some direction, and some may just have a personal encounter that rocks their world, no matter what it is jot it down if possible.
The purpose of this fast and prayer is to #1 honor the Lord, #2 get right with the Lord, #3 seek intimate counsel on what God would have us to adjust in our personal life to honor Him more, #4 seek Him as a local family who wants to see His agenda fulfilled and how we can accomplish this together.”
Our God is sovereign! He reigns supreme! “For the Lord is the great God, the great King, above all gods.” v. 3 Moreover, our sovereign God gives life to the spiritually dead! He calls us to share His love, mercy, and grace! To pray for an awakening, a spiritual revival where many are regenerated and many more in our churches are transformed by the renewing of their minds. A faithful brother, in his teaching about the gifts of the Spirit wrote, “ …this ministry in the gifts of the Holy Spirit becomes, to us, as natural and normal as breathing and eating and sleeping. These gifts are… expressions of life so natural and normal for those of us who’ve been baptized with the Holy Spirit that rather than suggesting that we live and function in the gifts, it might be said these gifts are simply the natural expression of whom we are in Christ.”
To be “baptized in the Holy Spirit” we hold to Acts 1:8 as a uniting text for all varying views as to meaning. We mean power! As Jesus said, “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. v. 8. The emphasis needs to be on the necessary supernatural power to be given to every regenerated, transformed believer who humbly cries out to our gracious God!
Moreover, why? So we can be witnesses to a lost, broken, dying world! We want God to be glorified through our efforts, we need God to infill us, baptize us, anoint us so we are hearing His voice, discerning His will, building His kingdom, effectively praying, …not once, but over and over again… we need to be filled and empowered every moment of everyday! I pray you are overflowing always! May the supernatural love of God dictate your life in every context, relationship, encounter…
Finally, a brother wrote, “Only when we reside within these rigorous standards of what agape love looks like and feels like and tastes like may we be sure we are ministering in the power and with the authority of the Holy Spirit of the Living God.”
Let’s pray diligently together! Share what God is doing, saying, teaching… how is he stirring you? Our living powerful God stirs our hearts! Today! Yes!
And again I say, Rejoice!
Rejoice! Rejoice!
And again I say, Rejoice!
LoVe YOU! MUCH!
