Friday Morning Prayer:)… Louisiana Relief! August 18, 2016

August 18, 2016 - 7 minutes read

I am weak, but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I’ll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.

Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.[1]

“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way:..”[2]

Faithful In Christ,

For what reason did the Apostle Paul refer? Because Epaphras shared the gospel, and the Colossians understood God’s grace in all its truth. Paul heard how ‘love in the Spirit’ was evident among the believers. Therefore, Paul encourages and assures them of unceasing prayer, that they may live a life worthy and please our Lord in every way.

I need that type of unceasing prayer! You do too! God’s grace has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom. In Christ we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.[3] In fact, we have been sealed with the Holy Spirit![4] Powerful encouraging truth that calls us to bear fruit in every good work and grow in our knowledge of God. I must rely on his glorious might for great endurance and patience.

I am convinced that the prayers of many, especially brothers who love me and I them, keep me enduring and strengthened from day to day. Not only enduring, but joyful and victorious! Sister/brother, some days we endure and long for the strengthening. I pray there are many days you are joyful and filled with the power of the Holy Spirit! May God strengthen you as you pursue Jesus and seek the face of the saints daily. Help me Lord to count my blessings and joyfully give thanks to the Father who has qualified us to share in the inheritance with the saints in the Kingdom of light.[5]

Beloved,

Our prayers, even our earnest cries go before the throne on behalf of the many who have lost everything in La. due to intense rain and flooding. Our local Alpine radio station: The Mountain FM 107.9 is gathering supplies of all sorts to take to those in need. A caravan of supplies will be heading to those in need in Louisiana! Chris, the director of the radio station, is our brother In Christ. He has experience with this type of relief effort, he served many and supplied for the needs of many through the hurricane Katrina 10 years ago. He is partnering with local churches, compassionate individuals, and relying on the power of God to make this happen! Please pray for the efforts stemming from Alpine and multiplying as God determines. Moreover, pray about what you can do. Visit:

www.TheMountainfm.com

There you can find out what supplies are being gathered. The radio station is a non-profit and the proclamation of the gospel is every Sunday at 107.9 FM!

Each day I’ll do a golden deed,
By helping those who are in need;
My life on earth is but a span,
And so I’ll do the best I can.

Life’s evening sun is sinking low,
A few more days, and I must go
To meet the deeds that I have done,
Where there will be no setting sun.[6]

____________

We do what we can and trust our gracious God, the God of all comfort to orchestrate His divine grace in the lives of many through this tragedy.

Sisters are meeting to pray! First Baptist. 1912 Arnold Way. Alpine. 0900.

We will know completely the effectiveness of our prayers once we arrive in the Kingdom of light to dwell forever with Jesus. However, we know in part that our prayers matter and lives are preserved, comforted, transformed according to the sovereign plan of God, through our unceasing prayer. Therefore, you are invited to join gals in prayer! Invite a friend and join sisters In Christ for a sweet hour of prayer.

Brothers are meeting too! First Baptist. Alpine. 0730.

Yes! We going to intentionally pray! You are invited brother! I sense the joy just writing about meeting with brothers to praise our God and cry out on behalf of many, pray for our communities, our nation, our families, etc., as the Holy Spirit leads. We most definitely rely on our God to lead us. Truly, the application of biblical truth and principles to the problems of life. Brothers who love Jesus and each other! The pursuit is to live a life worthy, hence daily conduct, which shall please our Lord in every way.

Through this world of toil and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.

When my feeble life is o’er,
Time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o’er
To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.

Overflow!

O fill my cup Lord!
