Friday Morning Prayer:). July 22, 2015

July 23, 2015 - 7 minutes read

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing pow’r?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?[1]

Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit.[2]

Faithful In Christ,

Peter tells us, as we come to Jesus, “…the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”[3] Yes! We come to Jesus in salvation! And, daily, even every moment in our minds’ eye, we continue to ask, seek, knock…praying about everything… longing for intimate fellowship with our gracious God:). I pray you are excited about and truly enjoying the supernatural reality of God in your Christ life.

The consecration service for Aaron and his sons was intense.[4] Our God is holy, holy, holy and the high priest was to reflect God’s holiness. The priest obediently did everything the Lord commanded through Moses. They, (Aaron and his sons) were made holy, anointed, and washed… they were given new garments—the blood was applied. The ordination lasted seven days! Equipping for ministry!

The Levites, who helped the priests, had to go through a less intense process, but nonetheless, a cleansing, setting apart process… holy unto our God. “Aaron is to present the Levites before the Lord as a wave offering from the Israelites, so that they may be ready to do the work of the Lord.”[5]

So too, Brother/Sister YOU, set apart In Christ, humbly before Jesus, our High Priest, we are made a holy priesthood, righteous unto our gracious merciful God. My sin, your sin, the sin of the whole world imputed onto Christ. “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become righteousness of God.”[6] Yes! Rejoice!

Moreover, as Christ’s ambassadors, called to a holy priesthood… we are equipped and being equipped through unceasing prayer, study of Scripture, fellowship… all through the power of God the Holy Spirit… we obediently allow, even cherish, long for more and more, when our God makes His appeal through us! Echoing the inspired words of the Apostle Paul, “We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”

In contrast to the blood of goats and bulls…, “How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!”[7] Beloved, be encouraged!

“Therefore, we do not lose heart. [!] Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”[8]

Are you walking daily by the Savior’s side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
Oh, be washed in the blood of the Lamb!
