Friday Morning Prayer:). July 17, 2014

July 19, 2014 - 7 minutes read

Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Brothers and Sisters In Christ,

You are invited to come pray with brothers from different fellowships, united at the CROSS. Join us as we cry out for mercy and grace, especially for the lost folks scattered throughout Alpine and the surrounding communities. Moreover, come pray for each other, our local churches and those ministering the gospel in the surrounding communities.

Brothers are meeting at Calvary Chapel. We meet at 0730. 2267 W. Victoria Drive, Alpine. IF you can’t join us, pray with us in the power of the Holy Spirit around this time:).

Sisters In Christ are meeting to pray! 0900 tomorrow at First Baptist 1912 Arnold Way. If you are a sister In Christ or know of gals who would desire to get together to pray and worship our God… pass it on! :).

Faithful In Christ,

“Let us hold unswervingly to the HOPE we profess, for HE who promises is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” YES! Moreover, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us ENCOURAGE one another- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:23-25

Hope, the writer of Hebrews wrote, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” 6:19. I pray for greater confidence, especially as we proclaim: God is thoroughly to be relied on. Let’s rely on our gracious God to empower us to provoke one another to love (agape), sacrificial ways of being and doing. John wrote, “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1 John 4:10. Lord, help me to experience and give away this supernatural sacrificial love, especially to my brothers and sisters In Christ. I can’t do this! However, In Christ! John goes on to say, “No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives IN US and his love is made complete in us.” v. 12 Praise Him!

I pray you are connecting to a fellowship where the gospel is proclaimed and the love of Christ is manifest through brothers and sisters. I need YOU! You need me! We need each other! Friday Morning Prayer is just one place, a time where brothers In Christ can come, desiring to love and worship our God together. In Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit, WE “spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” A couple of weeks back, a brother commented how our group of brothers has become “family” to him and he values very much our “sweet hour of prayer.” YES! Only through supernatural love!

“Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” Ps. 146: 1-2 “Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!” Ps. 147: 1 “Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights above. Praise him in the heights above. Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his heavenly hosts. Praise him, all you shining stars. Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies.” Ps. 148:1-4 “Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints.” Ps. 149:1

I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.

A call to pray! We keep on asking, seeking and knocking! Continue to lift up our Pastors, Elders, Deacons, Teachers, Youth Leaders, Worship Leaders, Small Group Leaders, ALL who devote time and energy to building up the Body of Christ! Thank You! Moreover, we pray pray pray for transformed hearts manifest in our midst! To the glory of God!

Pray for ongoing ministry at Alpine Treatment Center. We pray for God’s hedge of protection around East County Pregnancy Center. We pray for our brothers ministering at Joan McQueen Middle School this September at the Higher Ground after school program. Power! Changed hearts! Proclaiming the gospel! :).

Without ceasing we pray for Alpine Youth Center and the Leadership there. Pray continuously for our brother Joseph and his family. Behold Ministries, Compassionate Ministries, Band of Brothers. Precious Lord, please God, empower each of us to make a difference wherever You place us! Amen.
