Friday Morning Prayer:). July 16, 2015
July 16, 2015 - 6 minutes readOh, for a heart to praise my God,
A heart from sin set free,
With conscience sprinkled by the blood
So freely shed for me.
A heart resigned, submissive, meek,
My dear Redeemer’s throne;
Where only Christ is heard to speak,
Where Jesus reigns alone.[1]
“I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”[2]
Faithful In Christ,
I sincerely pray you are living out your “life” In Christ! A regenerated, born from above, new creation, Holy Spirit directed life that is full of abundant grace. I absolutely love, cherish, hunger, thirst for more and more… my life In Christ! You too? A life of faith, trusting our God with the process, including all the pain, suffering, heartache… He is the potter I am the clay.
“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior.”[3]
My heart breaks at the idea of marginal, lifeless, carnal, nominal, professing Christians. NO! Brother, sister… may we cry out to our holy God daily… mold and shape me to be, more and more… the salt of the earth and light of the world! A genuine life In Christ is exciting, supernatural, full of joy, peace! Sure, we have our struggles, and we mourn with those who mourn and rejoice with those who rejoice. In Christ, Paul tells us, “For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, Abba, Father.”
Our God cares about our struggles! He wants us to cry out…. I strongly encourage you to make every effort to experience the supernatural love and comfort of our gracious God, daily. He graciously gives us His Spirit! How cool is that? May we never grow weary of reminding one another of this truth. Intimacy! “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.”[4]
Be encouraged to pray, cry out without ceasing. God knows the thoughts and intents of your heart. Our infinite God hears your prayers, my prayers, the prayers of millions daily, hourly, because He is capable of paying the same attention to the multitudes of praying Christians as if only one individual were seeking His attention.[5]
“He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.”[6]
God regenerates, we are His workmanship![7] He prepared the things we are supposed to do… to His glory. I have to engage, co-participate, work-out my salvation with fear and trembling.[8] However, I am not left to my own devices. NO! Praise God! “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”[9]
A humble, lowly, contrite heart,
Believing, true, and clean,
Which neither death nor life can part
From Him that dwells within.
A heart in every thought renewed,
And filled with love divine;
Perfect and right, and pure and good,
A copy, Lord, of Thine.
Thy nature, gracious Lord, impart,
Come quickly from above;
Write Thy new name upon my heart,
Thy new, best name of Love.
