Friday Morning Prayer:)… July 13, 2016
July 13, 2016 - 6 minutes readAll to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.[1]
”You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”[2]

Christians are called according to God’s purpose, even predestined to be conformed to the likeness of Jesus![3] Powerful! What is my response? “All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give…” By his grace, ‘I will ever love and trust Him, In His presence daily live.” Yes! Indeed, we, In Jesus, Jesus indwelling, transforming, molding, shaping into his likeness. Jesus changes our worldview. A life once lived out of depravity—a self-centered focus to a new life of self-denial, other focus, balanced with love, compassion, and abundant grace!
I need to be cleansed, restored, even filled, hence, directed by the Holy Spirit every day! Be ye encouraged my family In Christ! I pray you and me too increasingly long for and actively pursue the daily experience, aware and recognizing, even proclaiming the ongoing transformation process, relying on our gracious God through every circumstance. “If God is for us, who can be against us?”[4] Moreover, my response… yours too, to pray unceasing, to cry out in worship, choose to be humble with necessary reverence before our holy, holy, holy God.
I need to submit “to be” in God’s presence. This submission is not a “have to” but a freedom given through Jesus that pleases our gracious God. Our Father loves you… me too! A supernatural love that draws us into sweet fellowship where we find rest, comfort, wisdom, and the strength to persevere In Christ! In fact, “You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.”[5]
Rejoice! Yes! In Jesus we rejoice! The joy of making the time to love, relate, and enjoy our God! A daily co-participation. Of course I rely on God’s strength, his renewing power, forgiveness when I fail. I choose every day to not allow sin to reign in this mortal body so I will not obey its evil desires. Rather, I offer myself to God as one brought from death to life![6]
Am I completely and totally vulnerable before my gracious God? Do I gaze intently before the throne? Do I worship in spirit and truth? Beloved, the process continues, from glory to glory through his strength and my surrender. “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”[7]
All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
Take me, Jesus, take me now.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame;
Oh, the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to His Name!
