Friday Morning Prayer:). January 7, 2016

January 7, 2016 - 6 minutes read

Come, let us worship and bow down
And kneel before the Lord, our Maker
Come, let us worship and bow down
And kneel before the Lord, our Maker

He is our God, He is our God
We are the people of His pasture
He is our God, He is our God
We are the sheep of His hand[1]

Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me. I cried out to him with my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God, who has not turned aside my prayer or his steadfast love from me![2]

Beloved,

Allow me to encourage you as I encourage myself. Yesterday, a long strenuous day ended with a tougher evening. As I sit and reflect, I hear James, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers [sisters] whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.”[3] I need to develop perseverance! I absolutely enjoy telling others to “persevere.” We don’t encourage perseverance for its own sake! No! We endure In Christ and cry out to God for strength for a purpose.

“Perseverance must finish its work so that you [me] may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”[4]

I am thankful for the inspired words from God through James. Most, if not all problems in my life can be avoided if I intentionally pursue humble, and ask God for wisdom in how to handle difficult life dynamics, especially interpersonal. James encourages us to ask God for wisdom, and assures that our gracious God gives generously without finding fault. I certainly have many faults, but God does not consider them when I humbly ask for wisdom. I need wisdom to overcome my recurring faults.

Brother/Sister, I pray you have experienced our ultimate refuge in times of trials and tribulations. I am supernaturally convinced that God is forever present in the midst of every storm. Indeed, God hears our prayers, He responds, He comforts! As I ran to the Psalms, therein lasting truth reflects our unchanging God who graciously saves, comforts, restores, empowers, and is worthy of all our praise and worship! Yes!

“Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.”[5]

“But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, ‘Let God be exalted!’ ”[6]

“In you Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame. Rescue me and deliver me in your righteousness; turn your ear to me and save me. Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go;”[7]

Come, let us worship and bow down
And kneel before the Lord, our Maker
Come, let us worship and bow down
And kneel before the Lord, our Maker

Worship the Lord in holiness
Let the whole world stand in awe
He will come to judge the world
In righteousness and truth

Therefore, may all surrender to the CROSS and sing!

What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus; What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Oh! precious is the flow That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know, Nothing but the blood of Jesus…

Thankful!
