Friday Morning Prayer:). Happy New Year!
January 1, 2015 - 6 minutes readMy Jesus, I love thee, I know thou art mine;
for thee all the follies of sin I resign.
My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art thou;
if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles. Psalm 103:1-5.
Beloved,
Do you sense the supernatural presence of our most gracious Lord? It does take effort, especially when the kids are so loud… the distractions just keep coming… long day at work, fatigue, life difficulties…. Whatever it might be in YOUR life… let me encourage you to pursue our God through prayer, in song, and through the Living Word. I struggle, you do too… That is why the writer of Hebrews wrote, “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” 3:13.
I so love the many songs of old, even new…those songs that just allow us to express…our heart… our desperation… “I love thee for wearing the thorns on thy brow, if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ‘tis now.” “I need Thee, oh I need Thee; Every hour I need Thee.” The Psalms are full of praise and worship songs. Prayers of praise…”Praise the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty. 104:1. Without fail, when I need a supernatural touch… “No tender voice like Thine…” I run to the Psalms and listen to our beloved hymns, praise, worship, pray…therein God is faithful!
Sisters are meeting to pray! First Baptist Church. 1912 Arnold Way. Alpine. 0900. We are so thankful for our sisters… who gather from various churches… to pray with each other, to praise our gracious God, and rely on God the Holy Spirit to lead and guide their sweet hour of prayer.
Brothers are meeting as well! We too are at First Baptist. 0730. Our brother John said it should be warm and ready for a time of FIRED UP Prayer! Yes! We sing… “Have thine own way Lord… You are the Potter… I [We] am/are the clay…” If you are a brother getting these emails… YOU are invited to join us… don’t hesitate…just come and contribute to making a difference through prayer! :).
We are praying about adding additional church locations, i.e., East Valley Christian Fellowship… we are also asking for your ongoing prayers about connecting with Shadow Mountain…the body of believers meeting here in Alpine at the Willows.
Thank you for praying for Joseph and Kevin, especially as they minister to and love Trevor, Tyler, Nathan, and Jonathan. Our next generation of men, potential church leaders! May God use our brothers effectively and supernaturally transform these young men! We pray for this end! Lord we pray… keep a hedge of protection around our brothers and bring them home safely. Amen.
I love thee because thou hast first loved me,
and purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree;
I love thee for wearing the thorns on thy brow;
if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
In mansions of glory and endless delight;
I’ll ever adore thee in heaven so bright;
I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow;
if ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their pow’r when Thou art nigh.
I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.
I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.
I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
Oh, make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.
LoVe Others! Much!
May this New Year 2015 reflect Christ even brighter through us!
Persevere In Christ!
Happy New Year!
