Friday Morning Prayer:). February 5, 2015
February 5, 2015 - 7 minutes readMy flesh is tired of seeking God
But on my knees I’ll stay
I want to be a pleasing child
Until that final day
My mind is full of many thoughts
That clutter and confuse
But standing firm, I will prevail
In faith that I’ll be used
Faithful In Christ,
Sisters are meeting to pray! May we be stirred at the idea of transformed, Spirit filled followers of Jesus getting together to cry out….Friday Morning! Yes! On our knees… we humbly pray to our Holy God! You are invited! Gals representing various fellowships in our midst. First Baptist. 1912 Arnold Way. Alpine. 0900. How much we value the prayers of many!
Brothers are meeting at Grace Fellowship. 2301 South Grade. Alpine. 0730. Faithful brothers meeting to encourage one another and intentionally pray. You are invited!
Tougher this week for me… thank you for your prayers. My boy Luke was sick… some residual… feeling some too… I have heard of many who have been struggling with flu like symptoms if not the full blown flu. My prayers, have been and even now are before our gracious God (e.g., MaryAnn, folks in your fellowships, families, circles).
I Truly understand the need to invite the trials… well, at least embrace… and recognize our God as gracious, pruning as He determines, and trusting Him to form and shape us …more and more into the image of Jesus! A brother asked me recently, “where does the encourager find encouragement?” I appreciated that much. I absolutely love faithful brothers! It doesn’t matter if they are old or young… it stirs my heart to perceive and even experience men who really love Jesus!
Moreover, supernatural love is manifest through going the extra mile, coming out of my comfort zone, finding ways to serve another, sacrifice! So often, comfort… don’t mess up my routine, I don’t want to make time… I am too busy. I pray for a supernatural balance for YOU and me as we journey. When to heed the words of Jesus, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mark 6:31b … “You give them something to eat.” v. 37 Most essential is our ongoing prayer, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Psalm 51:10-11.
There is lots going on! Alpine Youth Center/Youth Venture is going strong! Monday thru Saturday. Brothers and sisters ministering to youth, loving them, teaching, having fun! :). Wednesday nights at the Youth Center with Dean Kellio is going well. This through the Bible interactive study is ongoing from 7:00 to 8:00. Tuesday Higher Ground at Joan McQueen after school ministry with pastor Mark, Jonathan, Joseph. God’s grace! Sunday Nights at Alpine Treatment Center with Joseph McAndrews from Calvary.
We are exploring options to host a “burn.” This is a 12 or 24 hour prayer vigil. Talented brothers lead worship and folks come and pray… we schedule around the clock. Pray with us as we explore, plan the course… and trust our God to determine our steps. There are other things: our upcoming board meeting to determine fundraising, outreaches, networking, etc., We value our churches and pastors…YOU the body of Christ! How cool is it when devoted followers of Jesus get together to ignite gifts and encourage pursuit of vision, ideas, change, transformation… ALL to God’s glory!
Band of Brothers TONIGHT! 6:00pm for Dinner. 7:00 for worship and teaching. I appreciate Robert and Pastor Greg. These guys call this gathering San Diego Band of Brothers. Their intent is to get guys together to encourage, worship and enjoy breaking bread. Moreover, there is a time of teaching and feeding on the Word. :). Brother! You are invited:).
Powerful song from Keith Green:
Amen, I’m asking once again
Won’t You help me my friend
Lord Jesus
Holy Lord Spirit, set us free
From chains we cannot see
Come release us
I wrestle not with flesh and blood
My fight is with the one
Who lost the keys of hell and death
To God’s most precious son
One sleepless night of anguished prayer
I triumphed over sin
One battle in the holy war
God’s promised me to win
Amen, I’m asking once again
Won’t You help me my friend
Lord Jesus
Holy Lord spirit, set us free
From chains we cannot see
Come release us
My flesh is tired of seeking God
But on my knees I’ll stay
I want to be a pleasing child
Until that final day
We persevere “Until that final day” then we enjoy our God forever in all His holiness! Come pray with us… Send a note of encouragement! If you have a prayer request… let us know.
“Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:1-2
Humble we go!
LoVe YOU! MUCH!
Randall:).
