March 2, 2015 - 7 minutes readWould you be free from the burden of sin?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Would you o’er evil a victory win?
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r
In the blood of the Lamb;
There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r
In the precious blood of the Lamb.
Sisters are meeting to pray! First Baptist. 1912 Arnold Way. Alpine. 0900. The necessity of much prayer! We ask, seek, knock individually, together, at your church, my church, small groups, etc., This is just one opportunity to gather together to pray and encourage one another. Pass on the word!
Our Brothers are meeting too! Join us at First Baptist as we prepare the way for our sisters to pray together. :). 0730. Brothers from various churches are invited to intentionally pray and acknowledge our Holy God together. A time of encouragement as we truly rely on God the Holy Spirit to lead our time… a sweet hour of prayer:).
Brothers and Sisters In Christ,
As I read Mark 13 I thought about our Egyptian brothers, brutally slain. The media referred to them as Christians. The radical ISIS proclamation was clear: those who hold firmly to the CROSS are a target, to be killed without hesitation for our devotion to Christ. The life of 21 Egyptian men was horribly ended! Truly, they were hated and killed because of their identification with Jesus.
Moreover, it has been reported that children are being killed for refusing to reject our Lord and unwilling to embrace this barbaric form of ISIS religion. Only fanatical hatred of the gospel fuels this murderous behavior! I read, “As there is nothing that occasions such love as the gospel, when intelligently received, so there is nothing that occasions such hate as this same gospel, when passionately rejected.”
O Lord, merciful and gracious God, empower us to stand firm until our end, even as we pray come Lord Jesus. “At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And he will send his angels to gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.” Mark 13:26-27.
Beloved In Christ! Jesus exhorts us “Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.” V. 33. “If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: Watch!” v. 36-37.
We must proclaim, “There is power in the blood!” Yes, others will hate us, even kill us if given the opportunity. Jesus said it, it is happening. Therefore, we do not cower or compromise! We stand firm! The gospel! The Cross! Transformation! Regeneration! Salvation! We love and others know us for the love we have for one another! Right? Come on my brother, sister! :).
My heart’s desire is to encourage others to engage, watch and overflow with supernatural joy! We struggle, this life has its difficulties. We need each other! For those who are “sleeping” we want to rejuvenate and equip, encourage! encourage! encourage! Through our churches, small groups, one to one… we must spur one another on to: discipleship, much, much secret prayer, a genuine earnest daily devotion seeking our Holy God! We gather to worship, reach out to the lost, sharpen each other!
If you aren’t experiencing our God with supernatural passion, overflowing joy, a desire for growth, maturity, beyond milk… we need to talk! This is serious and persecution is real.
I was talking with brothers yesterday morning at McDonald’s… I just love brothers who love Jesus! Thank you pastors, leaders, devoted men and women of God! Genuine devotion and passion for Jesus is exciting!
Please hear, BALANCE! We cry out for a balanced life In Christ! We value experience, our emotions are given by God: joy, the infilling of the Spirit, grief, mourning, tears, laughter, passion, etc., On the other hand, we have to discern and be very careful not to be taken away, even deceived by emotional experience.
In Mark 13 Jesus tells us to “Watch out that no one deceives you.” In fact, he said, “Many will come in my name, claiming, I am he, and will deceive many.” vs. 5-6. This text is certainly more than the deception of “emotional experience” but the principle of “watch” “discern” does apply. So, be joyful, sense the presence and power of God, proclaim the gospel, overflow! Let’s do this together! Know we always pursue and encourage balance! To the glory of our God!
Would you be free from your passion and pride?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide;
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Sin-stains are lost in its life-giving flow;
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
Would you do service for Jesus your King?
There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;
Would you live daily His praises to sing?
There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.
LoVe YOU! MUCH!
Overflow!
