Friday Morning Prayer:) April 30, 2015

April 30, 2015 - 6 minutes read

I will sing of my Redeemer,
And His wondrous love to me;
On the cruel cross He suffered,
From the curse to set me free.

Sing, oh sing, of my Redeemer,
With His blood, He purchased me.
On the cross, He sealed my pardon,
Paid the debt, and made me free.

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry; …. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. [1]

My tongue will speak of your righteousness and of your praise all day long. [!][2]

Sisters are meeting at First Baptist to pray together! Join sisters to pray. 1912 Arnold Way. Alpine. 0900. You are invited! We are remembering Pine Valley, Mt. Laguna, and Lake Morena areas all week in our prayers.

Brothers are meeting at Grace Fellowship. 2301 S. Grade. Alpine. 0730. Join us to encourage one another, keep the fire burning, and seek our holy God through intentional prayer. As always we rely on God the Holy Spirit to direct our time. May each of us come with expectation… recognizing our prayers matter and are certainly part of the sovereign plan of God. Learning, desiring, thirsting, pursuing with great intensity to “lean into the anointing of the Holy Spirit.”

Beloved, may you be encouraged today! Love someone and allow someone to love you! :). We were created to need one another! Especially those In Christ!

Refuge in the Psalms… full of lament… reflecting, so often our own struggling hearts, especially In Christ. I shared with a brother just this morning… “trials, we do not want them, yet needed to refine and make us stronger… even more dependent on our gracious God.” David prayed through his struggles, hence giving us an example to follow as we… “overcome” through ours. He acknowledged his sin and had to express his anguish. “My heart grew hot within me, and as I meditated, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue.”[3] What stands out to me is David’s recognition that life is fleeting, our days are numbered, and each person’s life is but a breath. “But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.”[4]

Moreover, our God is sovereign. What does that mean? Well, much more than I can reflect on. It does mean that God knows your life! In fact, David is clear where his suffering comes from, “I was silent; I would not open my mouth, for you are the one who has done this. Remove your scourge from me; I am overcome by the blow of your hand.” God disciplines those He loves! We don’t like it, don’t want it, we don’t dismiss it! I need it! You need it! We do as David did, “Hear my prayer, O Lord, listen to my cry for help; be not deaf to my weeping.”[5]

Yes, many times sin, my flesh, my selfishness, my arrogance, brings the discipline of our Holy God. At other times, sin from a fallen world, circumstances, wicked people, bitter brothers and sisters…whatever… we suffer. In Christ! Our God has a plan…a purpose! He pursues us, supernaturally compels us to desire holiness. In fact, be encouraged! We were talking yesterday about God cultivating a greater awareness of his presence with us. God the Holy Spirit indwells… our personal, gracious, loving, empowering, rejuvenating, holy, holy, holy God. Think about that! WOW! Nothing is better!

I need thee every hour O gracious Lord… “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go for to you I lift up my soul.”[6] “Just as I am without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me, and that thou bidst me to come to thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.”[7]

I will tell the wondrous story,
How my lost estate to save,
In His boundless love and mercy,
He the ransom freely gave.

I will praise my dear Redeemer,
His triumphant power I’ll tell,
How the victory He giveth
Over sin, and death, and hell.

I will sing of my Redeemer,
And His heav’nly love to me;
He from death to life hath brought me,
Son of God with Him to be.[8]

Sing, oh sing, of my Redeemer,
With His blood, He purchased me.
On the cross, He sealed my pardon,
Paid the debt, and made me free.

LoVe YOU! MUCH!

Your Brother In Christ,

Overflow!

Randall:)
