Encouragement & Prayer:). September 23, 2014

September 24, 2014 - 4 minutes read

Brothers and Sisters In Christ,

I pray you are overflowing as the week unfolds. More often than not, we face trials and temptations of many kinds everyday. Therefore, I am compelled to sit and reflect. As I have said many times in days past, my desire is to encourage you in our shared faith. However, as I shared with Joseph this morning as we sat at Starbucks, I reflect because it is good for my heart. So, as you read, if you read, scim, peruse through, it’s all good! Thank you for allowing me to share and express love toward you:).

As we struggle to maintain a humble disposition in every circumstance: at work, school, the gym, at home, with kids, my spouse, neighbors, friends, clients, employees, etc., I hear the hymn:

I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.

I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly as I should. Colossians 4:2-4

Prayerfulness: a persistence and fervor that keeps me humble. Our prayers prepare the way for God’s sovereign interventions, His mercy revealed, grace experienced as we proclaim Christ! :). Therefore, “being watchful.” We cry out to our Lord, who invites our fervent, watchful, and active prayers… a continuous asking, seeking, and knocking…our gracious God to intervene according to His will, His mercy, abundant grace in every area of your life. Always thankful!

In v. 5 Paul tells us to “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. v. 6 “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”

I don’t know about you, but I need to be praying constantly to fulfill this in my everyday life. How quick I respond to a sarcastic remark, a careless driver, my child who ain’t listening! :). Slow to anger… help me Jesus I pray… Pray with me always, that humility and a Spirit led thought process would prevail in my life, your life, and the lives of every professing Christian you know.

Finally, I’d suggest singing a hymn everyday: don’t worry about it, I can’t sing either:). Just sing unto our Holy God! :).

I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their pow’r when Thou art nigh.

I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.

I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.

I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
Oh, make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.

“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” 2 Cor 13:14

Thanks for intentionally praying,

LoVe You much:).
