Encouragement and Prayer: April 27, 2014
May 18, 2014 - 5 minutes readBeloved Brothers and Sisters IN CHRIST!:)
I pray you are encouraged always!
I absolutely love the concept IN CHRIST. Our gracious God indwells us and empowers us to live for HIM. My prayer is that you are comforted in knowing and even in being reminded of this truth. In fact, let us resonate with Peter, who said,
“So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body.” 2Pet 1:12-13.
As we remain In Christ we will bear much fruit; And, Jesus said, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ASK whatever you wish, and it will be given you.” Moreover, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit–fruit that will last. THEN the Father will give you whatever you ASK in my name. This is my command: Love each other.” John 15:7, 16-17.
Effectiveness in prayer: there appears to be a direct link to fruit bearing, which in turn is linked to obeying the command to love each other.
I rely on our gracious God to empower me to bear much fruit and demonstrate my discipleship. Moreover, I need a renewed love everyday for all people, especially for those IN CHRIST. Pray this supernatural process be ongoing in my life and I too will pray you have the same supernatural experience more and more everyday, as we should In Christ:).
I am absolutely convinced of the necessity and excited about the reality of our ASKING God through constant prayer for many things, especially as they are in accord with His sovereign will. James said, “…You do not have, because you do not ask God.” v. 2b Our prayers are part of God’s sovereign plan too! If we don’t ask ask ask, we are not going to get: healing for a sick brother or sister, a job, salvation, transformation, empowerment, discernment, etc.,
Only In Christ, and the living Word in us…”ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you. James makes it clear that the readers weren’t “getting” because their motives were not right. In Christ we only want, desire, cry out for, ask, seek, knock over and over again what our gracious God wants! His will be done! His Kingdom come! We pray:).
I humbly ask you to keep praying and singing and praising our God through the Lord Jesus:). “Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. [Moreover],
Do not be anxious about anything, but in EVERYTHING, by PRAYER and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Phil 4:4-6
