April 11, 2011 - 4 minutes readPlease consider helping this family through Compassionate Ministries or our local Mountain View Bible Church.
To Everyone at Mountain View:
We have received the following letter from Patty Galea re a family at Alpine Elementary School. This family needs help and Patty asked if we could get the word out to everyone at MVBC. If you would like to help, we will have a basket available for gift cards or monetary donations on Sunday, April 17, and Patty will take it to the school. Please pray for this family as they go
through this financial, physical, and emotional trial.
Letter from the PTA
Hi,
At the last PTA meeting on Thursday Mrs. Adams asked for our help with a boy’s family who is in her class. The mom and step-dad were in a terrible car accident about 6 weeks ago and it has left the mom in wheel chair will rods keeping her body together she was in the hospital for about a month and now she is home but she needs 24 hour care and has even lost her front teeth. The family did not have insurance.
They have a third grade son who is in Mrs. Adam’s class and a 1 year old little boy. Both parents are out of work now and things are very tough for them. Their family is trying to help as much as they can but funds are very low. In the meeting we talked about doing a fundraiser for the family and Carol and Mrs. Adams are checking into what we really could do under the PTA umbrella but right now we talked about just opening it up to the PTA
board to see if you know anyone who would like to help them or if you would like to donate to the family.
Do we know a dentist who could donate to the family?
The third grade boy’s shoes fell apart at
school the other day and the office had to give
him some. The family could use gifts cards from: Albertsons., Target, Walmart, etc…… Easter is coming up and I would like them
to have a normal day for them and their kids.
Thank you,
Holly
From the 3rd grader’s teacher:
Thanks so much for your interest and help!! The boy in my class is 9 and the little boy is 17 months old. The third grader wears a shoe
size of 6 ½-7 and a large in his shirt size and size 14 in pants. The little one has a shoe size of 5 ½ and wears 2T. Neither parent is working at this time and the mom’s disability has not kicked in yet. The parents will be moving to a small town near Redding at the end of May with the baby and the older one will stay here with the grandmas until the end of the school year.
They do not have any insurance. The accident occurred on Feb. 13 in Riverside County and both parents were injured. The mom is in a hospital bed in their apartment at this time and the dad is doing okay at home. She broke multiple bones (fibula, tibia, wrist, pelvis), had a head injury, lost several teeth, and has had other complications as a result of the accident.
They are in crisis and any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jeri Adams
