Burdens Are Lifted At Calvary

Jesus is very near[1]

What, then, shall we say in response to this?  If God is for us, who can be against us?[2]

Brothers!  Sisters!  In Christ!

Prayer.   We live, talk about, engage in, we pray for others and ourselves.  The Spirit prompts us, we listen, and we cry out to our gracious God.  As I woke this morning, like many mornings there is that state between consciousness and sleep.  It is quiet and my mind is alert, yet my body is still lagging.  These mornings are most valuable as I pray.  I listen.  I usually enjoy the sense of God’s presence.  There are no distractions, no stimulation other than a surrendered heart and expectation to fellowship, find comfort, even wisdom to organize and prioritize.  Many times I am able to clearly recognize interpersonal dynamics or resolve recurring life issues through wisdom from heaven.  O how I, and you too, need wisdom.

“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.”[3]

Beloved!  Rejoice! It is because of our merciful God, we are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.[4] Moreover, we pray for the lost, believing that mercy, through the cross, changes foolishness to humility, and stumbling blocks to stepping stones.  Christ crucified!  For you, and me, God has called us into a supernatural and most enjoyable relationship, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.[5]  Therefore, we fight for joy!  We live by biblical principles and resist the forever present worldly temptations!   Through the power and wisdom from God, persevere brother! Overcome sister!  We pray unceasingly and never give up!

The wisdom from God allows us who believe to have eyes to see, ears to hear, and a mind to conceive what God has prepared for us who love him.  We know we are saved from the condemnation of the law, we are being saved from the corruption of the world, and we will be saved unto glory with Jesus!  Our hope of salvation!  A blessed assurance every day in Jesus!  “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”[6] Through the Spirit, we groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, and daughters, the redemption of our bodies.  For in this hope we are saved.[7]

In this world, suffering appears to prevail.  Family in Jesus, I pray you are encouraged by the Spirit of God to persevere in the midst of the storm.  We pray for relief, for eyes to be opened, ears to hear the call of God through devastating circumstances that leave only suffering in its wake.  God is present through the suffering, the comfort for those who believe, and the salvation for those called to receive.  We help through our prayers.  “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”[8]  Indeed!  “…If God is for us, who can be against us?”  You, and me too! We were predestined, called, justified, and glorified in Jesus!  Stand amazed!

Troubled soul, the Savior can see (Savior can see)

Every heartache and tear (heartache and tear)

Burdens Are Lifted At Calvary

Jesus is very near (is very near)
