Friday Morning Prayer:)… September 29, 2016

September 29, 2016 - 6 minutes read

Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child and forever I am.

Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, redeemed,
His child and forever I am.

Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus,
No language my rapture can tell;
I know that the light of His presence
With me doth continually dwell.[1]

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.”[2]

Sisters/brothers, those loving Jesus!

Truly, what a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear, what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer… yes, we have trials and temptations… Jesus knows our every weakness, so take it to the Lord in prayer… precious Savior still our refuge… take it to the Lord in prayer… In his arms he will take and shield thee… what a friend we have in Jesus…[3]

Through the hymn I was reminded to worry not, take “it all” to our gracious Lord in prayer. This life can become overwhelming. However, Jesus is our constant refuge! Yes, I’ll sing the wondrous story of the Christ who died for me…. I was bruised, but Jesus healed me… days of darkness still come over me… sorrows path we often tread….[4] Beloved, as we struggle and live victoriously, be ye encouraged to lean on the everlasting arms always! Humble at the cross we bow, crying out in complete surrender and total dependence on God as our Father, away from ourselves, to him who initially called, and continues to call us to Himself.

By the Spirit we fight and put to death the misdeeds of our flesh nature. A supernatural experience! “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.”[5] “And, by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’ “[6] Indeed! We pray with deep emotion, conviction, and trust, crying out to our God who hears and comforts. How cool the gospel truth for every genuine believer! In relationship with God, the Spirit indwells and Jesus is in you! “The presence and fullness of Christ are realized in the life of the Christian by means of the indwelling Spirit.”[7] Powerful and encouraging!

“It is the blood of Jesus, applied by the Spirit–which moistens each fiber of the root of holiness in the soul, and is productive of its fruitfulness. This is that which sends the warm current of life through every part of the regenerate man, [and woman] quickening the pulse of love, and imparting a healthy and vigorous power to every act of obedience.”[8]

I think of my blessed Redeemer,
I think of Him all the day long:
I sing, for I cannot be silent;
His love is the theme of my song.

I know I shall see in His beauty
The King in whose law I delight;
Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps,
And giveth me songs in the night.

I know there’s a crown that is waiting
In yonder bright mansion for me,
And soon, with the spirits made perfect,
At home with the Lord I shall be.
