Friday Morning Prayer:)… September 28, 2017

September 28, 2017 - 7 minutes read
To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He hath done.

Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.[1]
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”[2]
Family in Jesus!
A brother, visiting our church, shared with the congregation this past Sunday.  Not just a brother, he married the daughter of one of our Elders and now is experiencing the joys of fatherhood while attending seminary.   Stephen.  He said, “Jesus is so awesome!”  He paused, and I could see the tears welling, the smile… tears of joy!  Our indwelling God!  So awesome!  I could see the glory of God in my brother!  A genuinely transformed life in Christ, manifest!  I get excited and sense the joy of our Lord when I engage men like our brother Stephen!  A regenerated heart!  Made alive by Christ!
Beloved, I pray you too know and experience Jesus intimately, even continually seeking his presence, and find yourself excited because of the supernatural reality of our indwelling God.   The gospel truth!  We died to our old life, existence without God, and now your life and mine too is hidden with Christ in God!  Wow!  How awesome is this supernatural truth!
How then should we live?  In His power!  Through the leading of the Holy Spirit!  Joy overflowing, overcoming the sinful nature, putting on the incorruptible, emboldened to obedience, loving God with our whole being, and loving others as ourselves!
Brothers/sisters, be ye encouraged as we are reminded of gospel truth!  The more aware I am of God indwelling, and the more I hide Scripture in my heart, and fill my mind with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, the more gratitude will overflow from my soul toward God and others!  A daily process! Truly, I am thankful for holy conviction that redirects my flesh tendencies.  O the struggle!  I sat to think and reflect, pray and pursue our gracious God.  My beautiful wife needed something fixed!  Now?   I am busy!  I grumbled all through the fixing.  Shortly thereafter, I could not sit and pray or pursue God.  Conviction!  I sought Miss Heidi and apologized for my impatience.
Amazing Grace!   I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord, I need Thee, O how I need Thee, every hour I need Thee… stay Thou nearby… I come to Thee… in joy or pain… bless me now O my Savior, I come to Thee….  The reality is that I am prone to wander, Lord I feel it… here’s my heart Lord, O take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts above….
Salvation, God’s call to die to self, and be born again to a new life in Christ.  Powerful!  Through his power, I choose to put to death the flesh nature at every turn.  I have to rid myself of things like anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language.  More positively, I clothe myself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.[3]  I tend to fail miserably, but God reminds me of his presence and I keep taking off the old self and putting on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of our Creator.[4]
Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.
Sisters are meeting to pray!  First Baptist.  1912 Arnold Way.  Alpine. 0900.
You are invited!  Gals who join to encourage one another and seek our gracious God! If you have been wanting to go check it out and meet gals who love Jesus and will love you too, don’t hesitate!  Should you want clarification or more direction, feel free to email me and I will encourage you toward prayer with the gals!  :)….
Brothers are meeting too!   Bethel Assembly. 1929 Arnold Way.  Alpine.  0730.
Consider joining diverse brothers for an hour of prayer.  Actually, we fellowship for 15 min or so… then we intentionally seek our Lord through prayer.  As the Spirit leads we ask, seek, knock and trust our gracious God hears our prayers.  Through our prayers, our sovereign God moves as He determines.  With confidence before the throne of grace, we come with various prayers and requests.  To God be the glory.
