Friday Morning Prayer :)…. July 13, 2017

Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth or song,
As the burdens press, and the cares distress
And the way grows weary and long?
 
Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.
 
Does Jesus care when my way is dark
With a nameless dread and fear?
As the daylight fades into deep night shades,
Does He care enough to be near?[1]
 
“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.”[2]
 
 
Beloved in Jesus,
 
We pray and commune with our God, asking, seeking and knocking before the throne of grace.  Many times we ask, even cry out for mercy for unregenerate hearts.  We fervently ask God to change darkness to light through the cross.  Moreover, we pray for physical healing, emotional healing, and wholeness in Jesus.   Many times over our prayers are seemingly not readily answered.  So, we wait, continually pray, and trust our sovereign God.  I read recently, “He is with us in the waiting: he has heard every prayer, listened to every cry, kept track of every sorrow….”[3]  The psalmist writes, “When I am afraid, I will trust in you…. Record my lament; list my tears on your scroll— are they not in your record?”[4] 
 
Yes!  In Christ, you are light in the Lord and God communes, indwells, and strengthens through our weakness and comforts us through every pain!  Our forever present gracious God hears every word, every thought, gives every breath, so we can, by his Spirit, effectively walk with God in the light of his glory!
 
In your growing in grace journey, brother/sister, be ye encouraged to trust God in everything.  I have experienced “trusting God” as a process that is strengthened as I nurture, ponder, meditate, in prayer with Scripture.  And, oh the power of worship in song!  It is truly necessary for me to pursue God in secret prayer. You too.  Otherwise, the flesh wants to dictate the process of life.  You know, those angry responses, worry, the what-if scenarios, criticalness, subtle jabs, easily frustrated, uncertainty, etc., NO!   We are called to be filled with the Spirit, walking in love, joy, peace, patience… overflowing grace, humble before our God.  So, as you are like me, a tendency toward the flesh, pursue God in prayer and Bible study, fellowship, and enjoy God through a Spirit-filled worship, hence our life in Christ!   Oh yes, he cares.
 
Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed
To resist some temptation strong;
When for my deep grief there is no relief,
Though my tears flow all the night long?
 
Does Jesus care when I’ve said “goodbye”
To the dearest on earth to me,
And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks,
Is it aught to Him? Does He see?
 
Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.
